Ministry Effectiveness Report 2009
From the beginning, QE wanted to be a ministry that went where hurting people are AND WE HAVE DONE THAT! Through our outreach efforts, we have gone to the prison, to transitional housing facilities, and out into the community, meeting needs and sharing Christ.
Prison: In Winter of 2009 we began our monthly rotations at Perryville Women’s Prison.
· Our schedule took us out there 3-5 times a month.
· This year, we led over 50 chapels in 6 yards with over 2100 women in attendance!
· Our services showed steady attendance growth on every yard, some doubling, and others tripling in numbers.
· Our team has prayed 1-1 with over 180 inmates, and seen many answered prayers. As a result, God has grown all our faith through answers to our prayers…parole has been miraculously granted to Christian gals asking for God’s favor, injuries healed, marriages restored, relationships with children have been reconciled, protection against other inmates has prevailed, and people are becoming more and more the kind of people God wants them to be inside those walls.
· The most profound statistic is that we have seen 4 ladies make first time decision for Christ- 3 in the last 4 months of 2009.
Community Outreach Efforts:
· Sometime in the Spring of 2009, we began volunteering once a month at an existing outreach ministry called “Manna”, which feeds hundreds of families out of the parking lot of West Valley Bible Church. QE supplies the sound system and music during the event, and as volunteers, we interact with the families as they travel through the lines. This ministry is mostly about just loving people and meeting their need for food. We will continue to be a part of this in 2010.
· In the Fall of 2009 we began partnering with “House of Refuge”, a transitional housing facility for men. There we were asked to serve by fixing meals and interacting with the residents. Our organization personally prepared and fed over 150 meals. Even better, we engaged in conversations and began developing relationships. This is also something we will continue to do in 2010.
· In the late months of 2009 we learned of a housing facility called “The Good Samaritan”, which is a very small housing facility for about 10 men here in the north west valley. We initiated a partnership and fed the men there one time and will continue to do so in 2010.
· Also in the late months of 2009, we came together and sent food, clothing, and Bibles to Rocky Point Mexico. Our team did an amazing job of just showing up in that community and distributing as the Lord led. Our heart strings will always be touched by stories of children needing food and clothing, and there is a great need down there for these things. We will continue to send teams down there with help in 2010. Some of these same efforts will begin in the nearby neighborhoods of El Mirage, Dysart and Surprise, as they have a growing population of needy families in those areas.
We must continue to be about the Father’s business in 2010...
“God also helps us spread the knowledge about Christ everywhere, and this knowledge is like the smell of perfume. In fact, God thinks of us as a perfume that brings Christ to everyone. For people who are being saved, this perfume has a sweet smell and leads them to a better life.” 2 Corinthians 2:14-16
